Falls
According the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an average nursing home with 100 beds reports 100 to 200 falls each year and about 1,800 older adults living in nursing homes die each year from fall-related injuries. As these statistics reveal, falls are serious problem among nursing home residents. A good nursing home should assess a patient for risk factors for falls, such as walking and gait problems or medications that could affect balance. Patients who are at an increased risk for falls should have fall prevention strategies in place, which should include protective padding or alarms that go off when patients try to get out of bed or move without help. In addition, nursing home staff members should be educated about fall risk factors and prevention strategies. The law requires nursing home residents to receive adequate supervision and assistive devices to prevent accidents, such as falls.

Just read in a recent survey that in 2010, falls cost more than $19 Billion in direct costs alone. And more than one-third of all persons aged 65 or more fall in a given year.

The Digital FallWatch II is the finest early warning alert system for healthcare givers to alleviate this issue with patients and residents.

Have been a satisfied user of the NurseAssist Wireless FallWatch system for many years. Just received the new Digital FallWatch II system and must congratulate the NurseAssist technical team for a great job. The new FallWatch II is a breeze to program ( no more program cable ). Digital signal strength enhances speed at which alerts are received allowing for quicker patient response by caregivers.
Fall Management & Injury Prevention meets the Digital Age.
Awesome product!
